I’ve been wanting to try making my own topiary trees for awhile now, since some of the beautiful ones that I come across in the stores seem just a little bit on the expensive side. Since it’s almost Easter, and I’ve been needing to throw together an Easter project for this year as well, I thought why not try and blend the two! And well, this is what I came up with…

I actually made two of these little guys, and they really were so easy to make! I recycled some items that I already had on hand, so this project literally cost me zero dollars!

I reused old Christmas balls for the head and bodies of my bunnies, and I already had the moss stuffed away in one of my craft cupboards. All I did was paint my Christmas balls with regular white glue and roll them in the moss.

However, the trick to getting the moss to stick really well, is to cut it up into small pieces. This made the application process much smoother!

After my balls were all moss covered, I poked some holes in them and stuck them on some cedar branches leftover from my Christmas urns. FYI: If I had to make my bunnies again, I would probably make the holes before covering the balls with moss… Way less messy!

This pretty cement pots were extras that I picked up at the dollar store last year. I found them hanging out in the giant project pile down in basement. I think they ended up being just perfect for this project!

I used hot glue to fasten my bunny heads to my bunny bodies, and then made them some ears and tails out of some burlap-lace ribbon that I already had. I also hot glued these on too.
