How To Create: The Perfect Jello Shot!

2Jello shooters are my favorite type of shot… They taste delicious and go down easy — perfect for getting the party started!

It took me many years, many half-set shots, and even a few straws and bowls to perfect the perfect jello shot! Some have even referred to me as the Jello Shooter Queen… and now my friends, it is time that I shared this knowledge with you!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 pack of Jello
  • 1 cup of boiling Water
  • 1 cup of Vodka or Rum
  • Disposable Shooter Cups

All you need to do, is follow the directions on the back of the jello pack, but replace the cold water with Vodka or Rum. Next fill your disposable shooter cups. (I usually get about 24 shots per package of jello)… Chill in the fridge and let set for at least 2 hours. Serve and enjoy!

Tip: I always mix my jello shots in a large measuring cup… this way, they are easy to pour into the shooter cups!

    • Hi Mary! If I am making my shooters a day ahead, or longer, I make sure to cover them with saran wrap to help keep them fresh. They will actually keep in the fridge for several days to a week or longer, but mine never seem to last that long. If I have leftovers from a party, then I usually just stick them in the freezer until next time. 🙂 Thanks for your great question, and I hope this answer helps!

    • Hi Diane! Cold is good, but room temperature will also work. The coldness just helps to speed along the setting process! 🙂

  1. Hey! So when you said to follow the directions on the back of the jello pack I got a little confused. The instructions call for 2 cups of boiling water and 2 cups of cold water after mixing. For your recipe should I only put 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of cold vodka?

    • Oh! It sounds like you may have a double pack of Jello! The Jello that I use always says 1 cup of boiling water and one cup of cold water (which we replace with vodka)… I would definitely follow the package… If it says 2 cups of cold water then do 2 cups of vodka! But keep in mind, you can always replace some of the vodka with cold water to make the shots less stronger, if you like. Hope you enjoy!
