Have you ever had a Christmas cookie that you just couldn’t get out of your head?! I have… It was long, long ago at a Christmas work party, and there were these amazing Crown Royal cookies, made from a secret recipe, that I have just never been able to get my hands on.
I’ve had quite a few years to think about this recipe now, and I am proud to say that I have finally come up with my own rendition of these Crown Royal Christmas Cookies!
These cookies are perfect for adding a little bit of festive-ness to your dessert trays, or are just plain amazing served on their own!
***This recipe makes about 36 cookies!***
What you will need:
- 1 Cup Candied Red and Green Cherry/Fruit Mix
- 1 Cup Chopped Almonds
- 1/2 Cup Butter or Margerine
- 2 Cups Brown or Golden Yellow Sugar
- 1 Tsp Almond Extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Crown Royal Whiskey
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
What You’ll Need To Do:
Step One: In a mixing bowl, cream your brown sugar and butter or margarine together.
Step Two: Next, mix in one egg at a time.
Step Three: Then slowly stir in the Crown Royal and Almond Extract.
Step Four: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
Step Five: Fold the dry ingredients into the wet.
Step Six: After all of the other ingredients have been combined, you’ll then add in two thirds of your candied cherry fruit mix, and two thirds of the sliced almonds.
Step Seven: Place your cookie dough on a greased baking sheet, leaving about 2″ of space between your cookies. Now take some of your remaining cherry fruit mix pieces or sliced almonds, and sprinkle them on top of your cookies… This really helps your Crown Royal Christmas Cookies look nice and fancy!
Step Eight: Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
Step Nine: Let the cookies cool to touch on a cooling rack, then serve and enjoy!
These cookies can be served right away, but also freeze very well, so that you can enjoy them at a later date.
