Farmhouse Style Garden Retreat Ideas

Rustic Farmhouse Style Garden Retreat Ideas!

Create the perfect get-away by creating a relaxing, rustic, Farmhouse Style Garden Retreat, in your very own back yard! Use this list of my favorite, charming, Farmhouse Style Garden Retreat Ideas to help create a soft and relaxing atmosphere, by using natural elements, such as terra cotta pots, wooden lanterns, galvanized metal and lots of mixed shades of white.

Last summer we added a brick patio area to our yard, as a place where we can sit to keep an eye on our young children playing in their tree-house/sandbox/swing-set/play area.

This area would also serve as the perfect place to host my lovely fellow neighborhood-moms when they bring their children over to play. We often try to get together throughout the summer to sip a refreshing glass of Moscatto or Sangria, and of course let the children run wild! Continue reading

Beautiful Farmhouse-Style Faux Foliage for Your Home!

Beautiful farmhouse-style faux foliage! Are you like me, and have a tough time keeping houseplants watered, luscious, and well, just plain alive?! Check out this list to find beautiful farmhouse plants for your home, that allow you to skip the work and skip the watering!

So many people have given me houseplants over the years, that I could quote-on-quote, “Could never kill, even if I tried!”… Well sorry, but the little guys just never really made it longer than a month or two! I think it’s one of those out of sight, out of mind kind of things, maybe?

I forget that my houseplants exist, then somehow they make their way back into my tunnel-vision scope of reality, and I then feel so bad for letting them get so thirsty, that I completely over-water them, and they end up dying anyways! Poor things! Continue reading

Modern Farmhouse Style Lighting for Less than $100

Modern Farmhouse Style Lighting for Less than $100

Lighting is the one main feature that every room needs, that is probably easier to buy than DIY most of the time… Good lighting is the key to setting the mood, and whether it’s task lighting or accent lighting, it can either make or break a room! I have put together a list of modern farmhouse style lighting, all for less than $100!

Is anyone still as in love with the modern farmhouse style as I am?! It’s been going strong for a while now, and if you had a chance to read Home Decor Style Trends; Design Experts Favourites written by Sam Franklin from A Happy Home In Holland, you might have noticed that a large majority of the bloggers, including myself, still had a thing for mixing farmhouse style into their current design trends!

That being said, I love to DIY as much farmhouse decor as I can! I have learned over the years though, that some times it can be more affordable to buy than to DIY. I recently published a post on really beautiful farmhouse decor that you can buy for all less than $25 dollars! (You can check out that post if you like, right here!) Continue reading

Gorgeous Farmhouse Decor for Less than $25

Gorgeous Farmhouse Decor for Less than $25!

Guess what! Farmhouse decor design style is still going strong! Whether you are a true lover of farmhouse decor, or not really that into it, chances are that you probably already own something of this style, perhaps without even realizing it…

I can’t say for sure, but I think that farmhouse is one of those classic design styles that is here to stay!

If you think about it, you can have a straight up farmhouse decor design style, or you can take this style and mix it with another… modern, classic, rustic, traditional, industrial, french, coastal… just about anything!

Farmhouse decor can sometimes be very expensive, so I often try to DIY it as much as I can. I often find original and authentic, old, rusty pieces, then clean them up and give them a fresh coat of paint, like this DIY Tin Wall Art, for example.

However, you can’t always DIY everything, and sometimes it is just easier and more cost effective to but the decor than make it! Continue reading

10 Pretty and Eclectic DIY Benches!

10 Pretty and Eclectic DIY Benches! Find the perfect bench for all of your benching needs!

Today we are talking all about benches! If you were able to tune in earlier this month, you may have caught my post on my DIY bench made from a head-board and foot-board…

I found this bed set at a thrift store for about fifteen dollars, over two years ago, in hopes of making a bench out of it… But with life and stuff (working, momming, snowmobiling and fishing), it just sat around in The Project Pile, for practically, forever. Well until this month, that is!

I finally dug the bones for that bench out and had at’er! I was so happy and excited with how it turned out, I kind of feel like I want to make another one, and another one… and another one!

That’s how I decided to take a look at some other bloggers’ ideas and projects, and let me tell you, there really are a lot of neat DIY benches out there!

It was a little bit tough, but I was able to narrow down all of these great ideas to my top ten favorite. Some are so pretty, some are so eclectic, some are rustic, and some are fancy… Basically, what I’m trying to say is, that there is a bench for everyone on this list, no matter what your tastes are!
